Causes of Rotary Evaporator motor failure

Rotary Evaporator can make the experimental material spin at constant temperature negative pressure to form a film, and then rapid evaporation, and then cooling to recover the solvent.  It is an ideal instrument for laboratory distillation extraction, material crystallization and solvent separation.  As the main part of the rotary evaporator, the gear motor is the main tool to control the speed of the evaporator bottle.  If the gear motor fails in use, it will affect the efficiency of the experiment.  Today we will talk about the reasons for the possible failure of the rotary evaporator gear motor.

Rotary Evaporator speed motor failure causes are as follows:

    1.Rotary evaporator gear motor to bear too much load for a long time, resulting in high temperature rise, damage to insulation, thereby shortening the service life of the gear motor.

    2.Speed matching principle is that the gear motor and production machinery are running at rated speed, and the transmission mode is the same.

    3.Keep the gear motor components clean, ensure that the end cover and bearing assembly is reasonable, do not barbaric construction, to prevent the corresponding parts deformation and cause the gear motor can not run.

    4.Bearing damage is a common fault in the operation of gear motor.  When the bearing is replaced again, after the motor end cover is nested, the interference or ellipticity exceeds the standard, resulting in the bearing ball clearance being too small or uneven, resulting in increased friction during bearing operation, a sharp rise in temperature, and even burning out the instrument.

    5.The bearing chamber is not cleaned or the grease added is not clean.  If the slight rigid impurities in the bearing cage are not cleaned, or the bearing raceway is damaged during operation, resulting in the bearing temperature rising and burning.

    6.Rotary evaporator gear motor body running temperature is too high, the bearing can not be timely replenishment grease caused by the bearing oil shortage or even burn out.

    7.The bearing itself has manufacturing quality problems, such as inflexible rotation, raceway rust, excessive clearance, poor maintenance, and support deformation.

    8.When the running condition of the bearing is not good, the vibration and noise of the gear motor will increase significantly.  When the radial clearance of the bearing reaches a certain value, replace the bearing in time.

    9.The rotary evaporator does not run for a long time leading to oil deterioration, and the bearing rusts and is not repaired for regular maintenance.

    10.When the rotary evaporator gear motor vibrates, it should be distinguished whether it is caused by the gear motor itself or by the poor transmission device, and it may be transmitted from the mechanical load end, first find the key to the problem, and then deal with it according to the specific situation.
